Yesterday was a big day, as those of us with work in the upcoming show got to hang our prints in the gallery. Most of the shows that I've been a part of have been held in other cities, so this is an opportunity for me to not only hang my own prints but also attend opening night!
Having picked up the prints from the framer the day before, I headed to 1090 Gallery in San Francisco. Many of the other photographers were already there when I arrived, so I was fortunate to acquire a very good spot on the main wall. It took a bit of time for me to wrap my head around how to use the space and position the prints, but it turned out very well. I have five prints in the show plus a framed artist's statement.
There's a lot of worthwhile art in this show, and I'm looking forward to seeing it all on opening night, which is May 16 from 6:30-9:30 pm. If you're in the Bay Area, I hope you'll come by. The gallery is also open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 pm, and is on Instagram as @1090gallery. Check them out!
